Buying BMW E38 728 - First, apologies for the delay in writing and sending you this review.
I would like to thank you ever so much for sourcing this vehicle and I couldn’t be happier.
I want to also apologise for being late on the day of the viewing and then running into the viewing time of the next customer on your schedule, I know it led to an awkward situation for you and thanks for accommodating us.
The car is everything that I hoped for, and better than I could have expected.
Earlier this week I was at BMW with my X5 for some maintenance work and asked them to take a look at the e38 (well they kind of suggested it because they wanted to get their hands on it). They then got 2 of their head technicians to look at it (to be honest they were queuing up to be the ones chosen as they don’t get many of the proper BMW’s of yesteryear in these days), and they spent 2 hours on it thoroughly inspecting the car, had it in the air, took it for a test drive and their summary was:
We are struggling to find anything wrong with it, nothing needs doing, nothing is leaking, squeaking or perished, no rust….and it went on…with only 2 minor things that they called out (slight play in the bush of one rear wheel, and the auxiliary belt was starting to get a crack or two) but apart from that they were so complimentary about the condition, body, mechanicals, and it’s an E38 with the bulletproof M52…
Both said if they had the money they would make me an offer that I couldn’t refuse and take it home with them.
I think that’s probably a better review than I could have typed myself given their experience in BMW’s and glowing report.
So thanks once again for such an excellent car.
I took it to the German Car Festival earlier this month and it attracted a lot of attention.
I do hope we get to do business again, my (small) collection is something I would like to gradually grow with quality cars of this nature.

Sale of BMW E30 325 Convertible - I purchased my BMW from Andy at Old Colonel Cars. Porsche 944 S - A trip back to St Albans this morning to pick up the Porsche 944 S, after viewing this Saturday. Described as immaculate and how true that really was, in fact I'd say it was even better than described if I'm honest. A few minor faults made clear to me even before viewing the car, but considering the age and the iconic 1980's car that this Porsche is, really nothing to worry about.
On the 70 mile journey back home she drove faultlessly.
I've been to 100's of classic car shows over my years and this one, if not the best 944 I've ever seen.
Taking in its age, this car is exceptional.

BMW E24 635 CSI Manual - I collected my car yesterday from Andy, travelled from leeds on train where Andy kindly brought the car to me ready to drive away. What impressed me most about old colonel cars were how well the cars are presented and the descriptions are precise to the point with no waffle. BMW E30 316 Lux Touring - It was with a heavy heart that I said goodbye to my amazing E30 Touring. I had bought the car off Andy when he sold my previous BMW E30 Saloon, also bought from him some 13 years earlier. The previous sale had been due to needing an estate and the latter due to the soon to be extended London ULEZ zone. Sadly these magnificent cars have to be 40 years old before they are granted historical vehicle exemption.

BMW E46 330 M Sport - I have used Andy Miller at Old Colonel Cars services twice now, both selling and buying.
When you sell, you agree a price, leave the car and paper work, Andy does the rest. When sold the money is payed straight into your bank account. While the car is with Andy it is covered by his insurance, and he updates you on the selling process as necessary.
When buying I found the cars as described, complete with a new MOT. Both drove as they should and were presented very well.
I have found Andy to be very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his cars.
