RARE 'S' 16V MODEL
Here at Old Colonel Cars we have an immaculate example of a Porsche 944.
This October 1988 example has covered only 61,000 Miles and is one of the rare ‘S’ models, featuring the 16 valve engine and 5 speed manual gearbox. This is a rare and sought after model, only available for 1 year. The ‘S’ for ‘Super’, received lots of upgrades over the standard car, starting with the twin cam, 16v new cylinder head, brake and suspension upgrades, Limited Slipp Diff, many borrowed from the turbo model and going on to be used in the S2. A notable improvement in power and torque, many believe this to be one of the best and rewarding to drive in the 944 range.
This 944 benefits from and excellent service history. Its just benefited from a major service including new chain / full cooling system service etc.
The bodywork as you hopefully can see in the many pictures / video is in immaculate condition. There is no rust on this car, all solid wheel arches, no notable dings or dents, a very well presented example, ready to show now.
Inside, this excellent condition continues. Look at that interior, its very hard to believe its 34 years old. Its looks so fresh and unworn, a testament to its former keepers.
The classic Porsche ‘Teledial’ alloys are all in superb condition, no curbing etc. All are fitted with nearly new ‘Uniroyal’ tyres.
This car starts and drives drives very well indeed. The engine always starts with a lovely smooth tick over, the engine is very responsive, it certainly has a more sporty feel then the standard 944. The gear change and clutch feel very precise, just as your would expect on such a low mileage car. Suspension and brakes all performing as they should.
Look underneath this car (pictures on website), all very solid and original, this car has clearly been garaged for the majority of its life.
I really like the 944 as a weekend performance classic, I have sold many over the years. Well this example stacks up with any of them, an excellent example.
Its ready to be enjoyed now. Recently serviced and MOT’d until October 2022.
