EXCELLENT EXAMPLE
Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, I am delighted to have this superb example of the Mercedes SL500 R129. This March 1995 example has covered only 86,000 Miles.
This SL comes with an outstanding service history, full Mercedes main dealer history. In fact, its just had clear health check and service at Bromley Mercedes, with the video above.
Looking through the detailed service history, its had all the jobs you would want to see. For example engine wiring loom replaced by specialist (a common issue on these), new shock absorbers etc.
I have had the pleasure of driving this example around for the last few days and I can report it drives absolutely perfectly. The engine and gearbox sound and perform perfectly, very smooth but plenty of V8 power when required. No noises from the suspension, steering feels nice and tight.
The car comes in a lovely Dark Blue Metallic with a Cream leather interior, matching original hard top. The current owner spent alot of time finding one with this colour combination, this colour really suits this car, standing out from the Silvers etc. The paintwork is in excellent condition, as you can hopefully see, it presents extremely well. The Cream leather interior is just as nice, such a comfortable and well designed interior.
A remarkably capable car, a convertible for the summer and the hard top for winter making for an all year round classic.
The only modification made is the stereo has been upgraded to a DAB / Bluetooth more modern unit, but the original comes with the car.
