Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, we are delighted to have this very rare to find, BMW E34 540 (4.0 V8) Touring Individual Auto.
This 2 Owner, August 1995 example, has been owned for by the current owner for 22 years. Its covered 137,000 miles.
The current owner purchased this 540 in 2001. At the time he could not find a RHD M5 touring, but wanted a fast BMW estate.
This is an Individual model, finished in the special order colour of Avus Blue Metallic. It features a Black Buffalo leather Sports interior complimented by Walnut trim.
A beautiful example, in a superb colour, generally only used on special edition cars, M3’s, M5’s etc .. The Sports seats and the general layout of the E34 are so well designed, everything feels over engineered.
The 4.0 V8 produces 280 BHP, a delightful engine, very responsive and plenty of power …
A lovely V8 soundtrack, very refined for long distance cruising.
The automatic box is super smooth, suits the engine very well.
The owner of this car has over maintained this car, regular servicing, recent gearbox oil change etc, the owner becoming an E34 V8 expert along the way. This car has always been the go to car in the family for any long trip, a very reluctant sale, he is very keen this car goes to another E34 enthusiast.
A very original car, the paintwork appears to be mostly original, a lovely deep all over shine, only the odd stone chip as to be expected. A really good looking example, the colour along with little touches, like the larger, V8 front grill, the lower vents below front spoiler, only fitted to the V8 models. The alloys, again only an option on the V8 models.
As you can see, the interior is in lovely condition, nicely aged, well maintained leather seats etc.
Underneath this car is just as original, solid sills, rust free arches etc.
The car has a lovely specification, including electric windows all round, twin electric sun roofs, Auto gearbox with sports mode, air conditioning, Sports suspension, Cruise control etc.
The car has all the original keys, original manuals, service book etc.
The boot is full of spares etc, all coming with the car.
The rarely come up for sale, they are becoming very collectable. These cars were so well built and a joy to own.
