Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, we have a superb example of the BMW E30 Convertible. This example is one of the very last E30’s produced, an April 1993 318i Lux, with the 5 speed manual gearbox and only 74,000 miles.
Owned by a good customer of mine, he has been enjoying this car as part of a small BMW collection, he purchased from me 9 years ago.
Finished in Diamond Schwartz Black Metallic, the paintwork looks superb, the deep shine Black paintwork certainly suits this E30’s classic shape. Look closer, no rust, all solid wheel arches etc, there are 1 or 2 minor marks, but as you can hopefully see from the many pictures and video, it presents very well indeed.
Inside this E30, it features a Tan Leather interior with sports seats. This is complimented by matching carpets and Black door cards / dash.
Underneath this E30, its very original, all solid sills and jacking points, look at the pictures underneath, an excellent and solid example.
The 1.8 engine provides plenty of power in this relatively light car, returning good fuel economy.
The 5 speed manual gearbox feels refreshingly tight, the clutch nice and light.
The soft-top on this E30 is Black and remains in good condition, easy to open and close manually.
This E30 convertible would be perfect as a weekend classic, but if you were looking for a classic to use daily, this E30 would also be ideal. This is a low mileage E30, its covered only 74,000 miles, these cars commonly did over 200,000 miles, so this car has got plenty of time left to enjoy it.
