Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, we are delighted to have an excellent example of the BMW E28.
This is a E28 525e or eta. This very sought after model features the 2.7 straight six engine. These really are the model to go for, the 2.7 eta engine was tuned for extra torque and fuel economy. Driving this car you appreciate the engineering, to create a super smooth engine, with plenty of power and torque, such a relaxing drive.
If you haven’t driven one of these, you need to, they were so ahead of their time.
This is an August 1986 example, its covered 116,000 miles.
Its a very low owner car, with only 3 owners from new. (1st owner 13 years – 2nd owner 21 years)
It benefits from a fully documented Service History. We have a folder full of all old service receipts, all old Mot’s, the original stamped service book. It so nice to find a car that’s so obviously been cherished by its owners, they have taken the care to keep all the service records for this car.
The paintwork is finished in Bronze Metallic. As you can hopefully see from the pictures and walkaround videos on our website advert, this car presents very well indeed.
Inside, the car was specified with sports seats. Again, look at the pictures and videos, the seats are is amazing condition, with no real signs of wear. This condition carries onto the matching door cards etc. Look at the dash, no cracks, this car must have been garaged most of its life.
Underneath, this car free from any rust issues, the sills / jacking points / floor pan / wheel arches / inner wings are all very original and solid throughout.
I have had the pleasure of testing the car for a few days. I can confirm it drives really well. In fact it drives and performs so well, you forget you are in a 40 year old car, its keeps up with modern traffic with ease…
The engine starts instantly from hot or cold, it has all the power it should and this works very well with the smooth auto gearbox.
The suspension / steering all feel very fresh.
Everything on the car works as it should, so the fan and heater system are all good, the electric sunroof is a nice option, a nice stereo with the working electric aerial, central locking etc.
The car has just been Mot’d (No advisories) , and was last serviced at 115,837 miles.
Being 40 years old this year, it will be Historic class, so road tax is free and there will be no Ulez charges to pay.
