Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, we are delighted to have this very special and very rare, BMW E21 323i LE.
This is 1 of 170 believed to be produced. One of these specialist edition ‘LE’ models were given to each UK BMW dealer, as the final production run of the BMW E21, LE standing for Limited Edition. In other parts of Europe these were known as the ‘Edition S’.
This E21 stood out from the rest with the unique Factory two tone paintwork (These actually has 2 BMW colour code plaques), Ascot Grey Metallic upper and Graphite Grey metallic lower paintwork. In addition to the unique factory two tone paintwork, this E21 features Mahle alloys, BBS front spoiler, Leather trimmed steering wheel, Recaro Sports interior, Sports suspension, Limited Slipp Differential etc. This example featured rear headrests and opening rear windows.
This example has covered 112,000 miles from new. Its been cared for by the current owner for 12 Years. It a car owned by a very good customer of mine, I have seen this car at many shows, it always attracts a lot of attention. When he purchased it in 2012, to add to his BMW collection, he carried out a full restoration over the next 2 / 3 years to get it to the standards you see here. Its a testament to how well this was performed as it looks just as good today ..
It comes with a very large folder of service history, original manuals, spare keys etc.
The 2.3i engine runs and performs perfectly. I can’t believe how smooth it feels in this example, its absolutely lovely. The engine bay looks amazing. Look underneath, all completely dry, no oil leaks or corrosion.
The 5 speed manual gearbox and the clutch all feel and perform perfectly.
I have been lucky enough to have driven plenty of these E21 323’s, this example feels so fresh and tight. Look underneath, look in the engine bay / boot, it’s as good as they come.
This stunning and very rare BMW need to be seen, the next owner hopefully being taken to many summer events.
