VERY RARE ALPINA C2 2.7
AMAZING CONDITION THROUGHOUT
FULLY DETAILED HISTORY
Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, we are delighted to have this very rare, simply superb Alpina C2 2.7. This January 1989 example comes with the best, most detailed history file we have ever seen.
This is such a good looking car, Black (High Gloss from factory) with a Silver Grey leather interior. Obviously this is set off with the fabulous Alpina decals … Many more ‘Alpina’ touches are found throughout the car, this is a very special car.
This was an original Sytner build car from new, fully documented and authenticated by BMW / Alpina. The C2 2.7’s are very rare, much rarer than the 325 Sports and the M3’s …. Developed by Sytner, to produce the same power as the original E30 M3 (207 BHP) …. Alpina took a new car, usually a 325 SE, then set about stripping down and rebuilding at the BMW Sytner special department specifically set up for these Alpina models. They rebuilt the engine, increasing the displacement to 2.7, using light weight pistons, with many more changes raising the power to 207 BHP. I have driven many good 325 sport, the way this engine revs has much more of a race car feel. Alpina replaced the ECU, changed the suspension / exhaust / fitted Limited Slipp Diff, changed gearbox internals, bodywork / light weight Alpina alloys etc.
As you can probably tell, I have sold some very special BMW’s, but this Alpina I think is absolutely fantastic… This car drives and performs perfectly, no knocks, no rattles etc. The car has covered 173,000 Miles. It comes with an amazing history, with every bill and receipt from new, including personal correspondence from Frank Sytner himself about this car. Notable points from the vast history include new Limited Slipp diff, a full engine rebuild by Sytner at 80,000, suspension replaced / exhaust etc all by BMW.
The current owner of 15 years, has enjoyed this car as part of a small collection. For the last eight years its been in professional storage. Its just been fully serviced (Oil / Gearbox / Diff Oils etc) along with a fresh MOT, no advisories.
The Alpina touches on the interior are everywhere. The front seats are special order from Recaro by BMW, trimmed in the highest quality leather. The rear seat is the same as on E30 M3.
You have the special, numbered Alpina plaque, look closer, obviously you have the Alpina dash, the Alpina steering wheel, but look at the centre air vents, you will find an LCD screen for temp etc…
The Light weight Alpina alloys are all in superb condition.
The engine bay presents perfectly, with the Alpina strut brace, the exhaust manifold that looks like a piece of art …
Look at the boot, it features the larger tool kit, all present … Look closer, another chrome strut brace …Look at the spare, comes with a very rare BMW fuel can …
Underneath this car is just as good. Look at the pictures all solid and correct….
I think this Alpina would take centre stage in any collection, its ready to be enjoyed now ….
