Here at Old Colonel Cars, we are delighted to have this Alpina B9 3.5.
This 1983 example, is a rare find, 1 of 577 B9’s, this is number 166, the mileage is 82,500 (132,000 KM’s).
A left hand drive car. Built in Germany, where it spent it first 2 years before being exported to Japan. It stayed in Japan for 22 years, coming to the UK in 2017.
The B9 3.5 was Alpina’s answer to the E28 M5, obviously with similar power but provided in a different Alpina package.
The Alpina produced 3.5 straight six engine, has plenty of power with 241 BHP, a manual 5 speed gearbox and LSD, this car still feels quick today.
Finished in Dark Blue with Gold Alpina decals, Alpina bumpers, Alpina alloys, it looks stunning. Now this car gets admiration wherever it goes, pictures don’t do the car justice, the look and stance are superb.
The paintwork is a little bit old now and has the odd mark here and there, but this is a car you can jump in and use now, a very usable classic rather than a show queen.
Underneath, this is a very solid and original car, no matter helped by the time spent in Japan.
Inside this car features the beautiful Alpina bucket seats, finished in the classic Alpina striped cloth .. Now if this doesn’t put a smile on your face, take you back to the 80’s, I don’t know what will.
In 2023, this car had a full check over at BMW specialist, Munich Legends, resulting in a near £7000 bill. Before that, it was serviced by 4 Star Classics ..
At 41 years old, this car qualifies for Tax and MOT exception along with being able to be registered and used in ULEZ zones without charge.
