Here we have an immaculate example of the classic BMW E26 6 Series 635 CSI.

If you are genuinely searching for a top condition 6 Series, one that it is excellent solid condition throughout, then this stunning example cant be missed.

This car has spent at least the last 21 years stored in heated garages, only used on dry days. For the majority of that time its been owned by an engineer / mechanic owner who has perfectly cared for this car. You could look at 20 635’s and not find anywhere near as good as this one.

Now if you have read the classic magazine reviews etc, you have been told for the last couple of years now is the time to find and buy a good 635. The thing to look out for one these , the ones that will appreciate in value are those that are rust free and original, well this example is just that.

Firstly the paintwork and bodywork. The Alpine White paintwork on this car is in amazing shape, a real deep all over shine. The majority of the paintwork on this car is original and has been fantastically preserved. The colour looks perfect on this classic shape. Next look at the bodywork close up, all the wheel arches are factory metal , no rust, just solid metal. Look inside the wheel arches, you can still clearly see the factory paint all round, protected by clear waxoil. Look in the rear wheel arches, the inner rear wings are all rust free and original. Look inside the normal troublesome front wheel arches, again all you can see is factory paint, no rust. Feel inside the front wheel arches, again these front wings are all factory metal which is extremely rare now and only the result of being looked after and cared for properly all these years. While you there , look under the car, look at the sills, the jacking points, the floor pan, all the potential trouble spots on these cars, all you will find is factory rust free bodywork. This car has has no welding and is in just as good shape underneath as on top. So to summarise, the condition of this cars bodywork is about as good as they come !

Next the interior, finished in Dark Blue leather. Again, the result of years of care means this interior is as good as they come. With no noticeable wear to the sports leather interior, just lovely soft condition throughout. Looking round the whole of the interior, its just like its still sat in a BMW showroom back in the late 80’s. The original carpets are like new, a nice deep pile protected from new by an equally good set of high quality BMW overmats. The dash, door cards etc are free from any cracks or wear. This example benefits from a lovely Blaupunkt stereo, in full working order with lovely sound (Replaced one in picture, matches interior better) Another bonus is that everything works perfectly. Looking at the history, the air con system has been converted to use modern gas and blows ice cold. Another expensive repair taken care of is on this BMW is to the dash board dials. Common problems include Rev counters and Speedo’s playing up, Flashing service lights etc. These are all very common faults on these cars and the only permanent cure is an expensive, £400 circuit board replacement which has all been done on this example.

Next the wheels and trim on this car. Well the BMW alloys were subject to a full refurb in the past and they still look excellent today. No curbing, no corrosion, they are just right.

This car is now one of the sought after, chrome trim models. There is alot of chrome on these cars and the good news is that al the chrome work on this car is perfect. The front and rear bumpers are like new, along with all the chrome trim around the car, windows, windscreen, grill all as good as new. This chrome work has not been replaced, its all original, that shows you how carefully this car has been stored and used over the years.

This car drives and performs as a good 6 Series should. The 3.5 straight six engine sounds and performs perfectly, the gearbox kicking down instantly. You only need to drive one of these well sorted E24’s for a short time to see what all the fuss is about. They are surprisingly quick even by modern standards, but it more about the way everything has been designed just right and you can feel the quality of they cars throughout, they are the ultimate car saved for those Sunday morning drives etc. And also you have the reassurance that these cars can only appreciate now.

So here we have an outstanding original example. This car would stand out at any show, or would complete any BMW collection.
