RARE TURBO S MODEL
IMMACULATE CONDITION THROUGHOUT
Here we have a superb example of a very rare Porsche, the 944 Turbo S. The standard 944 turbo, with 220 bhp, was already a fantastic car, amazing performance, in an extremely well balanced car. Porsche then decided to produce a final edition of this excellent car, so they produced the 944 Turbo S (250 bhp). Initially there was only supposed to be a run of 1000 ‘Silver Rose’ cars (Only 77 cars made it to the UK). But due to the popularity, of this very expensice Porsche model, they agreed a final run and opened up this model to more colours, so another 635 cars were produced, including our Velvet Red example. Improvements included the M44/52 engine (with a new turbocharger, modified turbine vanes, larger exhaust valves and enhanced DME mapping), a stronger clutch, transmission with an oil cooler and limited slip differential, plus larger 12″ front disc brakes (from the 928 S4), special ‘Club Sport’ light weight alloy wheels.
Anyone who has spent the day with one of these cars knows how special they are. I should know, I used to own one of the base, 220 bhp models. I covered over 60,000 miles in that car, more than I have in any other car I have owned.

Bodywork / Interior / Wheels etc
Finished in Velvet Red, this car looks amazing. A deep all over shine, no noticable dings or dents, no rust on the arches, sills etc. Lovely ‘Turbo’ decals on the front wings.
Inside, finished in Light Cream leather, all in superb condition. Two tone dash, rear luggage cover, very well designed dash board.
The wheels are the lightweight, Turbo S alloys, all in excellent condition.
Engine / Gearbox
Featuring the M44/52, super smooth four cylinder engine, producing 250 bhp. 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, top speed of 162 mph.
Its the way this performance is released that will impress. Plant the throttle on a duel carriageway, around 60 mph and feel the boost come in strong, you are soon propelled at ‘warp’ speed, very addictive.
The factory strengthened ‘Turbo S’ gearbox feels very slick and secure. The clutch has just been replaced.
We have all the original manuals, a fully stamped original service book, a folder of receipts / old mots etc. This car has been maintained by Porsche or well respected Porsche specialists. I note the important belt service has just been done.
This is a rare example of one of Porsche’s best models.
The secret is already out and these rare Turbo S cars are fast appreciating.
