LOVELY ORIGINAL EXAMPLE THROUGHOUT
Here at Old Colonel Cars we have a superb example of the BMW E34 5 series, this one is a 525i SE Auto.
These E34’s are fast becoming very hard to find, especially rust free, low mileage examples like this one. A May 1990 example with only 73,000 miles. If you haven’t driven one of these for a while, especially a pre facelift example like this, you may have forgotten how wonderful they are. The 2.5i straight six engine (same as in E30 325i Sports) is a delight. It sounds lovely, is super smooth, plenty of power, suits this car perfectly. Its such a lovely car to waft around in. The interior is lovely, really takes you back and on this car it’s in amazing original condition.
It’s been a while since OCC have has one of these in, it’s been a delight to enjoy one of these again.
This car comes with Electric windows, Electric mirrors, Electric sunroof, Power steering, ABS, Central locking, BMW computer, Full toolkit.
Bodywork / Interior / Wheels etc
Finished in Gletscherblau Metallic paintwork, as you can hopefully see the example looks wonderful, the colour really suits this shape. A very well presented car, no rust, no noticeable dings or dents. Yes it has the odd stone chip, minor mark, but this car looks good and everybody loves it.
Underneath is all good, with solid original sills, jacking points etc.
Inside, all I can say is wow, it’s certainly been looked after well, really takes you back. Its finished in Blue cloth, as you can see the seats are in amazing condition. Everywhere you look in here, it’s in lovely condition, door cards, carpets, dash, headlining are all fine.
The BBS alloys on this E34 look great and very presentable.
Engine / Gearbox
The 2.5 straight six engine in this E34 is a delight. It’s starts and performs perfectly, smooth acceleration without any fuss. The engine is the perfect choice for this model, its very relaxing to cruise around in.
The auto box, with Sport mode performs as it should, hot or cold, lovely smooth changes and instant kickdown when asked for.
The current owner is a classic car enthusiast local to me. I had seen this car around and thought it looked lovely. He has owned it for 4 years. He purchased the car from an RAF mechanic, who had obviously maintained it very well, always keeping it garaged.
In the last 1000 miles, the car had a full service, cambelt and front brakes.
This is a lovely, affordable modern classic. These don’t come up for sale now very often, this example will make the perfect, usable classic.
It’s MOT’d until the end of October, it’s ready to be enjoyed now.
